Chhotji Ghee Wala

Most people in the area just know us by the name Chhotji Ghee Wala. We are located right by the Ghantaghar, near the big Clock Tower. It’s a landmark everyone knows, so we don’t have to give much directions. Our shop is small and smells like butter and ghee all day long. It’s a smell that sticks to your clothes, but we don’t mind it at all. We’ve been around this part of town for a long time. The building is old, and the wooden counters have some scratches and dents from years of heavy containers being moved around. We don't have a website or a fancy marketing team. We just sell ghee. People come in, we chat for a bit, they get what they need, and they go. It’s a very old-fashioned way of doing things, I suppose. My father was here before me, and he did things the same way. We source what we can and make sure it’s the right consistency. Sometimes the supply is a bit short if the weather is bad, but we do our best. The traffic around the Clock Tower can be a nightmare in the evenings, but it brings people past our door. We sit here, watch the crowds go by, and keep the tins filled. It’s a quiet life, mostly, and we are happy staying right here where everyone knows where to find us.
