Our workshop is located out in Akhil Baga Village, which is near the Soorsagar area in Jodhpur. If you’re looking for where we work, we are at Khasra Number 793, not too far from the Kabir area. It’s a bit of a drive from the city center, but it’s much quieter out here and we have the space we need to store materials. Fine Curves Crafts India Exports Llp is basically a small family effort. My husband Mahendra and I handle most of the daily things that need doing. We focus on making handcrafted items that have those nice, natural shapes—which is probably why we picked the name. We don't have a marketing department or anybody to write those polished emails you usually see. We just make the crafts and get them shipped out. The village life is slow, but the work we have is steady. We often have local workers from the neighborhood coming in to help us with specific carving or sanding tasks. Some days the Rajasthan heat is just too much to do anything in the afternoon, so we start very early in the morning when the air is still cool. We deal with exporters and sometimes people who just want a few pieces for their own local shops. It’s a lot of hard manual labor, and our hands are usually dusty at the end of the day. But there’s a real sense of pride when a shipment is finally packed up at Khasra 793. We don't make big corporate promises, we just do the work.
