Arun Pal Architect & Interior Designer

My office is at 1-A-223 in the Kudi Bhagtasni Housing Board area. It is quite easy to find because we are right near the police station here in Jodhpur. I handle both architecture and interior design, which keeps me pretty busy most of the week. Being in the housing board area means I work with a lot of families who are trying to fix up their homes or build something on their own plots. It’s just me, Arun Pal, and I’ve been doing this for a while now. The space isn’t very large, but it’s enough for my table and the computer where I do all the designing. Sometimes I’m out at a site checking on the workers, and other times I’m sitting here trying to fit a kitchen and a bathroom into a small space. Designing interiors in Jodhpur is interesting because people have very specific needs for their houses. I try to listen to what they want and then see what is actually possible. It’s simple work, really. I don’t use any complicated jargon when I talk to people. We just look at the space and decide where the walls and furniture should go. Being near the police thana makes it a landmark that everyone knows. It’s a steady pace of work in a neighborhood I know well. If you are around 342005, you've probably passed by the building.
