Amichand Salecha & Company

We are located at G-2-15 on the K U M Mandore Road. It is a busy stretch of Jodhpur 342007. Amichand Salecha & Company has been operating out of this Mandore Mandi area for quite a bit of time. The trucks pass by all day long, so there is always a layer of dust on the front window. We don't have a big sign, just the one that’s been there for years. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of stuff and a couple of desks that have been pushed together. It’s a bit cramped when more than two people are working in the back, but we make it work. The Mandore Road can be a nightmare during the rainy season because the water pools up near the entrance, and we have to put out sandbags sometimes. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here; it's just the daily grind of trading and talking to suppliers. My uncle used to run the place and not much has changed since his time. We still use the same heavy keys for the locks. Most days involve a lot of waiting for deliveries and then a sudden rush of work. We drink a lot of coffee to stay sharp. It is just a normal Jodhpur business, nothing more and nothing less. We know the people around here and they know us by our first names. There is a sense of belonging in this market that you don't find elsewhere.
