We are located in Vill Satbill 1, which is in the Jhargram area of West Midnapore. Dipak Mandal’s place is the main contact point for us. Most of us here have spent our whole lives in these fields. Being a Sarathi or a guide for our crops seemed like a good name because that is what we do every day. The land in Binpur-I is what feeds us, and we wanted to make sure we were taking care of it properly. We are a group of producers who decided to stop working separately. It is much better when we can move our grain together. We don't have any marketing teams or anything like that. It is just us, the farmers, sitting down and figuring out the best way to get our work done. Sometimes the rain is late or the pests are bad, and those are the things we actually talk about. We keep things very simple and honest. If you visit Satbill, you will see us out there in the mud or the dust depending on the month. We aren't trying to be something we are not. We are just local people from Jhargram who care about our farming and want to keep our village moving forward. It’s a plain life but it is our life and we are okay with it. There is plenty of work to go around, and we just keep our heads down and do it.
