Our company, Garhbeta-2 Maa Sanaka Farmer Producer Company Limited, is based in the village of Adalia Dobati. We are out in the Goaltore area, specifically at Gangadhar Mahata’s place. It’s a rural spot, and the office is right there among the houses and fields. We are a collective of farmers who wanted to have a bit more control over our own lives. We handle the business of selling what we grow and buying what we need for the next season. The office is simple, usually with a few motorbikes parked outside and people chatting near the door. Gangadhar helps keep everything moving smoothly. We don't have fancy brochures or a marketing department. Our reputation is just what people say about us in the village. It is a lot of manual work and keeping track of small details that can easily get lost. We have meetings where everyone gets to say their piece, which can take a long time, but it’s the right way to do it. We are just trying to make the farming life a bit more stable for everyone involved in this part of Paschim Medinipur. It’s not easy, and there are plenty of days where things go wrong, but we just keep showing up. That’s how things get done around here in Goaltore. We are just regular people working the land.
