Om Suresh Hotel

Om Suresh Hotel has been sitting here at 1/A near Minerwa for a good while. We are right inside the Saiyar Gate in Manik Chowk, which is a part of Jhansi that stays crowded from morning until night. The streets are a bit narrow around here, so you have to watch where you’re walking. It’s an old building, and we spend a lot of time fixing small things like leaky taps or loose tiles. We serve food to whoever walks in, mostly people visiting the market or staying nearby. The heat in Jhansi can be really something in May, so we try to keep the place as cool as possible for the guests. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see my nephew serving water or my brother talking to the guests at the entrance. We don't have a big corporate team, just us and a couple of helpers. The kitchen stays busy with the smell of spices filling the air all day long. Sometimes we sit out on the steps when it’s quiet just to catch a bit of air. We know most of the shopkeepers around Manik Chowk, and they often stop by for a quick bite or a chat. It’s a noisy, busy place but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the city. We keep the doors open and the food ready for whoever happens to pass by Saiyar Gate.
