Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is located in Kiloi, within the Jhajjar district. It is a residential school, so the campus is where both the students and many of the staff live throughout the year. The grounds are quite large and there is plenty of room for different buildings like the hostels, the academic block, and the dining hall. It is situated in a rural area, so there are fields and open spaces all around us. The students follow a very strict daily routine that starts with physical training in the morning. We have a big playground where the kids play football and other sports once the classes are over for the day. The dining hall is the heart of the campus, especially during meal times when everyone gathers together. The buildings are the standard government style, which are strong but have been around for quite a while. We have a library and some science labs where the students spend a lot of their time. The weather in Jhajjar can be extreme, with very hot summers and quite cold winters, so everyone has to adapt. It is a self-contained community where we all look out for each other. We do not get many visitors because of our location, but it is a busy place inside the gates. Our days are filled with teaching, supervising the hostels, and making sure everything runs according to the schedule. It is a lot of work but it feels right.
