We are at the Arasemta Cement Plant, which is located in Gopal Nagar within the Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh. The pin code is 495663. This is a real industrial site for Lafarge India Pvt. Ltd. It’s not like an office in the city. There is a lot of dust, heat, and the constant hum of the machinery from the plant. We spend our days right here where the actual production happens. It’s a big area and we have to move around a lot. Gopal Nagar is a bit of a company town, so everything revolves around the plant. We don't have any polished floors or fancy furniture. Everything is built for utility. We wear our work boots and we get on with the job. The sun in Janjgir-Champa can be really brutal, so we stay hydrated and keep things moving as best as we can. Our team is a mix of local people and folks who have moved here for the work. We don't use any marketing speak because we don't need to. The plant speaks for itself. We just focus on the daily output and making sure the machinery is running the way it should. It’s a gritty, hands-on environment and we wouldn't have it any other way.
