Balco,Vedanta

Working out of Sector-2 here in Korba is mostly about the routine. You get used to the dust and the trucks coming in and out of the gate all day. We spend a lot of time over at B-166 just keeping things moving. It isn't a fancy setup by any means but it gets the job done when you’re dealing with something as big as Balco and Vedanta. The weather in Chhattisgarh can be pretty rough during the summer months and that usually slows everything down a bit in the afternoons. Most of us have been around here for a while so we know the shortcuts through the township when the main roads get blocked up with heavy vehicles. It’s a busy spot especially when there’s a lot of metal to move and not enough hours in the day to do it. You’ll find us mostly stuck to the office or checking things out in the yard nearby. Sometimes the power cuts out and we just sit around for a few minutes until the generator kicks in. It’s just the way things go in this part of Korba. We’ve seen the place change quite a bit since we started but the work itself stays pretty much the same. Most days it’s just about making sure the paperwork is sorted and the address is easy enough for the drivers to find. We don't do much in the way of decoration because the work doesn't really allow for it.
