Itc Hotel, The Maratha

Our current setup for Itc Hotel, The Maratha is a bit unusual. We are operating out of Quarter Number T99/4 in the Traffic Colony in Jamshedpur. It’s care of Mr. Baleshwar Singh. Being in the Traffic Colony means we are right in the middle of a busy residential area for railway and industrial workers. It’s not a hotel building at all; it’s just a regular quarter where we’ve set up some desks and filing cabinets. Jamshedpur is an industrial city, so there’s always a bit of dust in the air. We try to keep the place clean, but it’s a losing battle most days. The quarter is a bit old and the paint is starting to flake off in some of the rooms. We don't have an elevator, so we have to carry everything up and down the stairs. It’s a very basic environment without any of the fancy stuff you might expect. We spend our days handling various administrative tasks and talking to people on the phone. The neighbors are regular families, so you can often hear kids playing or people cooking nearby. It’s a very grounded and real place to work. We don't have a lobby or a reception desk. You just come to the door and knock. It’s just how we are doing things for now in this part of East Singhbhum. It works for us and keeps us busy.
