Gayatri Fly Ash Bricks

Gayatri Fly Ash Bricks is a small operation we run out here in Village Jhinkpani. We’re located right at Post Jhinkpani in the Taluka Chaibasa area, and you can practically see the Jhinkpani Railway Station from our front gate. It is a noisy spot sometimes with the trains passing by so close, but we’ve gotten used to the sound of the engines over the years. We spend our days out in the yard moving fly ash around and getting the bricks into stacks. The ground is always covered in that fine grey dust and it gets on everything, even your clothes. We don’t have much of an office, mostly just a chair and a table under a small tin roof where we sit when it gets too hot. Our workers come from the village and we start pretty early before the sun gets too high. Usually, there is a lot of loading and unloading going on with the tractors. It’s a lot of manual labor, picking up one brick at a time and stacking them high. When the rainy season hits, the mud makes it hard for the trucks to get in near the station, so we have to do a lot of extra shoveling. It is just a regular local business, nothing fancy about it. We’ve been here for a while and most people in the village know where to find us if they need bricks. We just keep our heads down and get the work done every day.
