Aj Bricks Works

Over at 518 in Satara, Kamariya, you’ll find us working away at Aj Bricks Works. It’s a bit out of the way, which is nice because we have plenty of room to spread out the bricks. The soil around here in Satara is pretty good for what we do, and we’ve gotten to know the land well over the seasons. We wake up early, usually before the sun is even fully up, to get the machines running and the first batches started. It is quiet in the mornings except for the sound of the clinking bricks being stacked. We don't use any high-tech stuff, just the basic methods that have worked for us for a long time. Sometimes the tractor breaks down and we spend half the day fixing it, which is frustrating but that’s just how it goes when you run a place like this. Most of our days are spent just making sure the stacks are straight and the bricks are drying evenly. It’s physical work and your back definitely feels it by the end of the week, but we like being outside. People from the village come by now and then to check on their orders or just to talk. We aren’t trying to be the biggest around, just want to keep the yard at 518 busy and make sure we have enough stock for the local builders who need materials for their projects in the Kamariya area.
