You can find our office at B-271 within the Bina Project in Sonebhadra. This is not a typical city office. Since we are right in the middle of a project area in Uttar Pradesh, things are a lot more rugged than usual. The building is functional and was built to last, but it certainly is not pretty to look at. Larsen Toubro Ltd needs us here to keep an eye on the local operations. There is always a lot of dust in the air because of the construction and the movement of heavy vehicles around the site. We spend our days dealing with site reports and managing the flow of supplies. It is a very hands-on environment. Most of the people here wear boots and work clothes rather than suits or formal wear. We do not have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some charts and safety notices. The noise from the project is a constant background hum that we do not even notice anymore. It gets very hot in Sonebhadra, and our office can get a bit stuffy, but we just get on with it. We are not here for the comfort; we are here to make sure the work gets done correctly. It is a tight group of staff because we are all living and working in the same project environment. We do not use fancy language to describe our day. We just talk about the schedules and the logistics that need handling before the sun sets.
