Oriental Engineering Co. is out in the GIDC-3 area of Dared in Jamnagar. We are right by the Amarnath Gas Godown, so it is easy to find if you are looking for that landmark. This part of Jamnagar is all industry and metal shops. Inside our place, it is mostly lathes and drill presses. There is oil on the floor and the smell of cut metal is everywhere. We do a lot of small parts that most people probably never think about. It’s not glamorous work but it’s what we know. The sun hits the workshop pretty hard in the afternoon, making it a bit sweaty. We don't have air conditioning, just big open doors to let the breeze in. Most of us grew up around here and learned the trade from our fathers or uncles. We don't have a website that looks like it cost a fortune. We just have our machines and our tools. Dared is a tough place to work if you don't like getting your hands greasy. We spend a lot of time measuring things to make sure they are right before they go out. If a machine breaks down, we fix it ourselves. It is a practical life. We don't use big words or try to act like we are bigger than we are. Just a local shop in the middle of a big industrial zone doing the job every day for our customers.
