Vijay Reshi

My name is Vijay Reshi and you’ll find me over at Nb.Industries 31. It’s located in the Industrial Estate in Digyana, Jammu. This place is a bit different from a regular office because it’s an industrial area, so there’s always the sound of machinery and big trucks moving around the lanes. I’ve been in this spot for several years, and it’s a practical place to be if you’re actually making or fixing things for a living. The estate can get a bit dusty and the roads aren't always the smoothest after the rains, but it’s where the real work happens. I spend most of my time on the floor or at my small desk in the corner of the unit. I don’t think having a fancy setup just for show is necessary at all. My work speaks for itself, and people who need what I do usually find their way here through word of mouth or because they know me from before. Sometimes we have issues with the power or getting materials delivered on time, but we just figure it out and keep moving. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s steady and it pays the bills. I know most of the other guys running units around here, and we help each other out with tools or advice when we can. That’s the thing about Jammu, people still look out for one another. I don't use a lot of fancy words to describe my business because I think honesty is better. We just come in, do the work, and go home.
