Om Kashmir Arts. Our shop is located in Lane No. 5, Butta Nagar, which is right near Paloura. It’s not on the main road, so you have to know where you’re going to find us. The lane is usually pretty quiet, which is nice because it lets us focus on what we’re doing. Inside, it’s a bit of a mix of everything. We have piles of textiles and various items stacked up on the shelves and even on the floor sometimes. It’s a lot of color and different textures everywhere you look. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. We know where every single item is, even if it looks like a mess to someone walking in for the first time. The light in the shop isn’t the best, so we often take things out to the doorway to get a better look at the details in the sun. We spend a lot of time just talking to people who wander in or neighbors who stop by for a chat. It’s a relaxed pace of life here in Butta Nagar. We don’t push anyone to buy anything; we just show them what we have and let the work speak for itself. It’s a small, honest business, and we like being tucked away in our little corner of the neighborhood near Paloura.
