Living and working in Jammu has its own pace, and we’ve settled in at H.No-104-A in Sainik Colony. Vec, which is the short name we use for Vij Engineers Consultant Pvt Ltd, is based right here. It’s a residential-feeling area, which makes the workday feel a bit more relaxed than being in the middle of a massive commercial hub. We are engineers by trade. That means a lot of our time is spent looking at blueprints, calculating things, and making sure the math adds up. We don’t have a polished PR person to write our descriptions. It’s just us. The office is basically a few rooms filled with computers and large-scale printers for drawings. Sometimes the internet acts up, or the power goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out and get back to it. Our neighbors in Sainik Colony are mostly families, so we try to keep things quiet. We’ve been at this for a while now. We know the local regulations and how things get built around here. It’s not a flashy business. Engineering is about being precise, not about having a fancy lobby. We take our work seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Usually, there’s a bit of joking around the office while we work. It keeps the mood light when we’re dealing with complicated technical problems all day long. We just get the engineering done and head home when the clock hits five.
