Our engineering shop is located at Plot No. 37/7 in the Model Town area of Gangyal. It’s an area where a lot of small shops are doing similar work, so there's always the sound of welding or grinding in the air throughout the day. We do a lot of metal fabrication and general repair work for local businesses and residents. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and various tools, but we know where everything is kept. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy sign out front to attract people. Most of the time, we’re just busy at the benches getting through the stack of orders. We take on whatever comes our way, whether it's a small welding job or something a bit more technical. My brother and I started this after working for other people, and we prefer being our own bosses even if the hours are long and the work is tiring. We don't spend money on brochures or any kind of marketing stuff. We figure if the work is decent and the price is fair, people will come back. The neighborhood is okay, though the roads get a bit rough during the monsoon season. We’ve got a steady group of regulars who trust us with their machines and equipment. It’s a basic setup, focused on the tools and the materials we have. We just want to do the work and keep the shop running for another year.
