Mahavir Traders

Our place is at Plot No 89-A on Palace Road. It’s right in the Kacchi Chawni area, which is part of the Old Heritage City. Because of the location, the streets are quite tight and full of history. Mahavir Traders fits right into this neighborhood. The building we are in has thick walls and small windows, which helps keep things a bit cooler during the Jammu summers. Ambphalla is always bustling, and you can see people walking to the local temples or markets at all hours. We don’t have a big corporate structure here. It’s mostly just us handling the orders and talking to the regulars who have been coming to us for years. The floor is concrete and we have metal racks lined up with all our goods. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just keep working by the light from the doorway. We don’t put on any acts for anyone. If you come in, you see the work exactly as it is. There are stacks of ledgers on the main desk and probably a half-empty cup of chai somewhere nearby. We know the shortcuts through the old city to get our deliveries out faster when the main roads are blocked. It’s a tight-knit community here, and we just play our small part in keeping the local trade moving along every day.
