We have been operating out of Plot No. G-132/133 in the Riico Industrial Area for quite some time now. Phase-III is a busy place, filled with dust and the constant sound of heavy machinery. At Mahadev Stones Pvt. Ltd., our days usually start early, before the sun gets too high and makes the yard unbearable. We deal with stone every day. It is heavy, cold, and doesn't care about your schedule. We have a few saws that run most of the time, and the noise becomes a kind of background music after a while. The office is just a small space with a couple of chairs and a desk covered in invoices. We don't have any fancy air conditioning in the workshop, so we just leave the big doors open. Sometimes birds fly in and nest in the rafters. We don't mind much. People come by asking for specific cuts, and we do what we can with the blocks we have on hand. It is honest work, even if it leaves your clothes grey by the end of the shift. We know the other guys on the block, and we sometimes borrow tools from each other. The road outside is unpaved in sections, so things get muddy when the monsoon hits. We just put on our boots and keep moving the slabs. There is no secret to what we do. It is just Mahadev Stones Pvt. Ltd., sitting here in the heat of Riico.
