Kangma Agro Producer Company Limited is run out of House Number 16 in Samrod. That’s in the Jamner Taluka over in the Jalgaon district. We are right in the middle of some of the best farmland in Maharashtra. Our office is just a regular house where we keep our files and meet up in the evenings. We don't have a big staff of executives. It’s just us local people trying to organize our harvests better. Jalgaon is known for its bananas, and we handle a lot of those along with some other local crops. The roads around Samrod can get pretty muddy when it rains, so we spend a lot of time worrying about the trucks getting stuck. We aren't interested in sounding corporate or using big words. We just want to get the work done. People from the village often drop by to see what the market prices are like or to help with the sorting. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We don't have a mission statement on the wall; we just have a calendar and some notes about the next shipment. Our goal is simple: make sure the work we do in the sun all day results in a fair price.
