K. C. E. Society Adhyapak Vidyalaya (D. Ed. College)

Our teacher training college is located right on the M. J. College Campus in Jalgaon. You have to go up to the second floor of the B. Ed. building to find us. It’s a busy campus with lots of different departments, but we have our own specific area for the D. Ed. program. We have been part of the K. C. E. Society for quite some time now. The building is an older one, so it has that classic institutional feel to it. We spend our days preparing people to become teachers themselves. There are a lot of lectures on how to manage a classroom and how to explain things to younger kids. It’s very much a hands-on type of education where we focus on the practical side of being in a school. The hallways can be a bit narrow, and we share the space with other faculty members and students. Since we are in the middle of Jalgaon, it’s easy for most people to get here by bus or rickshaw. We don't have a lot of fancy technology, just the standard stuff you need for training. Most of our staff have been in the education field for decades, so they have a lot of stories to tell. We don't really do much in the way of self-promotion. We just keep the classes running and make sure the paperwork for the society is in order. It’s a steady, quiet place for people in Maharashtra to get their teaching credentials.
