Sk Enterprises

Located at Shop No. 5 in Pratap Nagar, we are right in the thick of things. Sher Soldier Public School is just a stone’s throw away, so my mornings are usually marked by the sound of kids shouting and bells ringing. Sk Enterprises isn't a very large operation. It’s mostly just me in here, surrounded by stacks of paper and various supplies. The shop gets a lot of light in the morning, which makes the dust motes dance in the air. I usually start by clearing off my desk, which somehow gets buried in folders every single night. The chair I use has a bit of a squeak that I keep meaning to fix but never quite get around to. People from the neighborhood pop in for all sorts of small things. It’s a friendly place, and I don’t mind the interruptions. The floor is covered in linoleum that’s seen better days, showing the path from the door to the counter. I keep a small radio on the shelf, usually tuned to a local station that plays old songs. When the school lets out in the afternoon, the street gets chaotic for about an hour. I just stay inside and wait for the rush to pass. It’s a comfortable routine, nothing too exciting, just steady work in a familiar corner of the city. By the time I lock the front gate, the school is quiet and the street finally feels like it’s mine.
