You can find Sgr India Engg. Co. at EG-132 in Ladowali. It’s a very familiar spot for those of us who work here every day. The neighborhood has its own specific rhythm, and we’ve become a part of it over the years. Our office is more of a workshop really. It’s a place where we get our hands dirty and actually build and fix things. It’s definitely not the kind of place you’d find in a high-rise glass building. We have various tools hanging on the walls and pieces of metal or parts laying on the workbenches ready for the next job. It might look a little disorganized to an outsider who doesn't know our system, but we know exactly where everything is. The floor is made of concrete and shows all the wear and tear of the projects we’ve finished over the years. We don’t spend much time sitting at the computer unless we absolutely have to. Most of our day is spent at the benches or talking to suppliers on the phone. There’s a small, slightly wobbly desk in the corner where we keep the ledger and the phone. We don’t have a big staff, just a few people who really know their way around engineering. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the big industrial fan in the corner is our best friend. We like the practical nature of our work. There’s no fluff or fancy talk here. We just focus on the tasks.
