Fakir Chand

Fakir Chand is over in Guru Ravidas Nagar, in the Nawanshahr area, quite close to the railway station. Being near the station means we hear the trains coming and going all day long, which is just part of the background noise for us now. Our place is a simple setup, nothing that would catch your eye if you were just passing through. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and the locals in Nawanshahr know us well enough. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertising because word of mouth usually does the job for us. It’s a small operation where we handle everything ourselves, from the heavy lifting to the simple bookkeeping. The space is a bit cluttered with tools and materials, but it’s a working shop, not a showroom. We don't really have a mission statement or anything like that. We just show up in the morning, see what needs to be fixed or moved, and we get to it. Sometimes the neighbors stop by just to chat for a minute, and we like that about being in this part of town. It’s a real community feel here in Guru Ravidas Nagar. We just keep our heads down, do the work that comes our way, and try to be fair with everyone who walks through the door. It’s a quiet, steady way to make a living without any big surprises.
