Eternal Candles

The workshop is at 26, Vasant Vihar. It is where we make all our candles. My family has been living and working in this area for a long time. It gets very busy during the festival seasons, but for the rest of the year, it is just the daily grind of melting down the wax and packing up the boxes. People sometimes ask us how we got started in this, but it’s just what we have always done. We are not some big automated factory or anything like that. It is just a few of us working in this space. The rooms are a bit small, but it works for what we need. We have stuff kept everywhere, molds on all the shelves and boxes stacked up in every corner of the room. Sometimes the smell of the different floral and spice scents gets a bit strong, but you honestly get used to it after a few hours. Most days we are just trying to get our orders out of the door on time. We are not fancy and we don't have a big front office for visitors. If you come by, you will probably just find me or one of the guys with wax on our clothes. It is hard work, especially in the summer when it’s hot outside and the heaters are going. But we keep at it because it is our livelihood. Vasant Vihar is a nice enough place to be based. It’s quiet most of the time.
