You can find us over on New Mandi Road, right in the middle of Central Town. The Babbar Akali Market is always a chaotic place to be. It's crowded and noisy, but that's where the business happens. We handle sheera supply, which is basically just dealing with molasses and heavy containers all day long. The smell is quite strong once you get close to the shop. Some people like it, others don't, but we've grown used to it over the years. We’ve been in this market for a while. Our neighbors are mostly other traders and shopkeepers who have been here as long as we have. We see the same faces every morning when we open up. It’s a lot of lifting and moving stuff around. The floors are usually a bit sticky, no matter how much we try to clean them. That’s just the nature of what we sell. We don't have a big website or a marketing team. Most people just know our name from word of mouth or seeing our trucks parked in the lane. We spend a lot of time on the phone making sure the deliveries are moving. Sometimes things get delayed because of the traffic in the market, which can be a nightmare. We just do our best to get the supply out to the customers. It's a busy, messy, regular kind of life here in the heart of the town.
