Ma Sachhe Hair Salon

Ma Sachhe Hair Salon is tucked away in Kanhaiya Market over in Phalodi. If you live in this part of Jodhpur, you know that the market is where everyone ends up eventually. It is a hot place, and the dust sometimes blows in through the door, but we keep the shop running six days a week. I opened this shop because I wanted to work for myself and stay close to home. The space is small, just enough for two chairs and a little bench for people to wait. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Most people find us just by walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. We handle basic haircuts and shaves for the men around here. Nothing very complicated or trendy, just the usual styles that people have been getting for years. I have a small radio that plays the local stations while I work. It helps pass the time when the afternoon gets slow. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the door wider to let the sunlight in so I can see what I'm doing. It is a quiet kind of life here in Kanhaiya Market. We aren't looking to grow into a big chain or anything. As long as the scissors stay sharp and the customers keep coming back every few weeks, I am happy with how things are going for the shop.
