Yashwin Engineering Works

Located at G-1 in the Badhana Industrial Area, which is part of the VKI extension, our workshop stays pretty active. The roads around here can get a bit dusty when the wind picks up, but inside we are focused on the metalwork. We do a lot of fabrication and repairs. The machines we use are heavy and sometimes temperamental, so we spend a decent amount of time maintaining them. It is a straightforward operation where everyone knows their role. We don't have many meetings; we just talk over the noise of the grinders. The sunlight comes in through the high windows, which helps with the lighting. We have stacks of iron rods and sheets waiting to be turned into something useful. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It's the kind of place where you learn things by doing them over and over. The neighborhood is full of other shops doing similar things, so there is always a sense of community among the workers. We carry our lunch boxes and eat together in the small break area we cleared out. There’s no corporate ladder here, just people doing their jobs and making sure the parts we make are decent. We’ve been in this spot long enough to know the postman by name. It’s just regular work for regular folks.
