V K Engineering Works

You can find our workshop in the Jhotwara Industrial Area at Heera Bari 2. We call it V K Engineering Works. It’s a place where we do a lot of metal fabrication and fix various mechanical parts. The shop is usually full of the smell of oil and the sound of welding machines. It’s definitely not a clean or polished environment; there are iron scraps on the floor and my hands are almost always black with grease. We have some old machines that we’ve been using for years because they are reliable and get the job done properly. I don't spend much time in an office; I’m usually out on the floor with the guys working on a project. We take on anything from small repairs for local people to making components for larger companies in the area. Jhotwara is a busy place and it gets very hot in the summer, which makes the work even tougher. We don't have a fancy website or any promotional material. Most of our work comes from word of mouth because people know we do an honest job. We just look at the drawings and start cutting or welding. It’s a straightforward business where we focus on the task at hand. Sometimes a job takes longer than expected, but we make sure it’s finished correctly before it leaves the shop. It’s just hard, practical engineering work for us.
