Wool & Gift Center

Wool & Gift Center is tucked away in Sanganer, and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time. It’s a quiet place compared to the main market area. In the winter, the shop is full of colorful bundles of wool and knitting needles. People come in looking for specific shades to finish their sweaters, and we spend a lot of time helping them match colors. The rest of the year, we focus more on the gift side of things. We have a lot of items that have been on the shelves for a while, like glass vases and sets of bowls that are popular for weddings. The shop smells a bit like old paper and wool, which is a nice smell if you ask me. There’s an old wooden counter where we do all the billing and wrapping. We don't have a computer or anything, just a thick ledger where we write things down. Sometimes we sit on the stools and chat with the ladies from the nearby houses about their knitting projects. It feels more like a hobby shop than a business sometimes. We keep the shop clean, but it’s an old building, so there are some cracks in the walls. It doesn't bother us much. We just like the slow pace here and seeing the regulars who have been coming to us for years. It is a simple life and we like how it stays the same.
