We are running Vitagro Foods And Flavours Llp out of Peruvaram Kandy House. We’re located in Manipuram, right by the post office. It’s a small place in Kerala where everyone knows everyone else. We focus on foods and different flavors, which is a lot of fun but also a lot of work. The house is often full of different smells depending on what we are working on that day. Sometimes it’s spices, and other times it’s something sweet. We don’t have a big factory or anything like that. It’s a home-grown business in every sense of the word. We started this because we wanted to use the local ingredients we have around here. My brother helps with the deliveries, and I handle most of the mixing and packing. It gets very humid here, which can make things difficult with food storage, but we’ve learned how to deal with it over the years. We don't go in for fancy packaging or big advertisements. If the flavor is good, people will come back for more. That’s how we've always done it. It’s just a small family operation trying to make something people enjoy. We spend our evenings sitting on the porch talking about the day's work. It’s a good life and we are happy with it. We just keep things simple.
