Being located at A - 16 Surajpole Anaj Mandi means we are right in the middle of all the grain trading action. Shri Singhal Grain Pvt. Ltd. has been part of this market for years, and the atmosphere here is always energetic, especially during the harvest seasons. The smell of raw grain and the sound of hundreds of jute bags being moved around is what we live with every day. Our space at A-16 isn't very big, so we have to be smart about how we stack the wheat and other grains that come through the doors. There is a constant stream of farmers and transporters coming by to talk prices or just to see what the quality is like today. We don’t have any air conditioning in the main warehouse, so we just keep the big shutters open to let the air circulate. It’s a lot of manual labor, and at the end of the day, everyone is covered in a fine layer of dust from the grain. We keep a simple record book on a tall desk where we note down the daily arrivals. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. Sometimes the Mandi gets so crowded that trucks can’t even turn around, which leads to a lot of shouting and horn honking. We just take it as it comes and try to keep our section moving smoothly.
