Pondy Venkateswara Modern Rice Mill

Our mill is located on Sikar Road in Bandhu Nagar. We are near some well-known spots like the Alka Cinema and Kanji Restaurant, which helps people find their way here. Pondy Venkateswara Modern Rice Mill is a place where there is always a bit of dust in the air and the sound of machines running. It’s not a quiet workplace, that’s for sure. We have bags of rice stacked up high and the smell of the grain is everywhere. It’s a local operation and we’ve been part of this community for a while. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. People come to us because they know where we are and what we do. The floors are concrete and we sweep them several times a day, though it never stays clean for long. We have a small area where we sit down to talk to the farmers and the delivery guys. It can get pretty busy during the harvest season and then we are all working extra hours to keep up. We don't have a big corporate office; our office is just a desk in the corner of the mill. We like being near the cinema because there is always some life on the street. It’s a straightforward business and we don't try to make it sound more complicated than it is. We just focus on the rice and the people who need it to feed their families and keep their own shops running.
