Vikas Glass Aluminium Works

Vikas Glass Aluminium Works is situated over in Sanganer Maruti Colony, right on Diggi Malpura Road. We do a lot of work with window frames and glass panels for houses and shops around the colony. The road outside stays pretty dusty with all the trucks going past, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass before it goes out. It’s a delicate job sometimes, because one wrong move and you’ve got a big mess of shards to deal with. We have a big table for cutting the aluminum sections to the right length. It’s a loud process when the saw is going, so we usually wear earplugs. People come in from the Maruti Colony area mostly because we’re easy to get to. The shop isn’t very big, so we have to be careful about where we stack the finished pieces so they don't get scratched. My son helps out on the weekends when he’s not in school, teaching him how to use the measuring tape properly. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything. We just hope that if we do a decent job for one person, they might tell their cousin or a friend. Diggi Malpura Road is a busy place to be, but we like the energy of it. It’s just our little glass shop doing what we do. We usually have the radio on to keep things lively while we work on the frames.
