Kumawat Glass House

Kumawat Glass House is right here on Sirsi Road. If you know where Bhushan ITI is, we are just near that spot in Shyam Enclave. It is mostly a dusty place because of the road construction and the trucks passing by all day long. Inside the shop, we have stacks of glass sheets leaning against the walls. Some are thick and some are thin. We spend most of our time measuring things out with an old tape measure that sometimes sticks. It is not a fancy place at all. The floor usually has some tiny bits of glass on it so we have to sweep a lot. We have been in Panchyawala for a while now. My hands are usually a bit rough from handling the edges of the glass all day long. Sometimes the sun hits the glass in the morning and the whole shop gets very bright for an hour or two. We just sit on the plastic chairs and wait for people to drop by with their window frames or whatever they need fixed. It is a quiet kind of work but you have to be careful or things break. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us doing the cutting and the carrying. The tea guy comes around at eleven and that is usually the highlight of the morning. It's just a regular shop doing regular work for the people around this part of town. We hope the road work finishes soon so we don't have to clean the glass every single hour.
