Vaishali Masala

Our place is in Ganesham Tower, right near the Amrapali Circle in Vaishali Nagar. It is a busy area of Jaipur and we have been here for a while now. The smell of the spices usually fills the air around the shop, which is how most people find us if they are walking by. We are right opposite the Bsnl Office, so we see the office people coming and going all day long. Vaishali Masala is basically just about getting the right mix for the local kitchens. We spend our days measuring out powders and seeds, making sure everything is packed up properly. The traffic around the circle can get a bit much in the evenings, but it stays lively. We do not have any big fancy displays, just the masalas and the bags stacked up where they need to be. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, so we are always cleaning the counters. Most of our customers are folks from the neighborhood who have been coming to us for years. They know what they want and they do not need us to tell them. It is a small shop, but it stays busy enough with the locals and the Jaipur weather. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. If you are near the tower, you will probably catch the scent of the cumin and chili.
