Over at Hawa Sarak, specifically at 747, you’ll find Topmax Trading Company. Being near the Jaipur GPO means there is always mail moving and people rushing around with envelopes. Our space is mostly just desks and a lot of boxes stacked up against the walls. It’s not a shop where people walk in to browse. It’s more about the trading and moving goods from one place to another. The address 747 is easy to remember, which helps. The stairs leading up are a bit steep and the paint is peeling in the corners. We don't spend money on making it look like a showroom. It’s a place for work. Most of the day is spent on the phone or checking the lists of what arrived and what needs to go out. The traffic on Hawa Sarak can be a nightmare during the morning rush, so we try to get here early before the main congestion starts. We have a small window that looks out onto the street, but it’s usually too noisy to keep it open for long. There’s a water cooler in the corner that makes a loud humming sound. We just focus on the orders and the paperwork. It’s practical work. No one wears a suit here. We just wear whatever is comfortable for moving boxes and sitting at a desk for several hours straight. It is just a normal office routine for us.
