Choudhary Mobiles

If you go to the Main Bus Stand in Dantri, you’ll see Choudhary Mobiles right there among the other shops. It’s a very noisy spot because of all the buses coming in and the conductors shouting out the destinations all day. We stay quite busy because people are always dropping their phones or needing a new charger before they catch their ride to the next town. Our shop is small, mostly just a counter and some glass shelves filled with phone cases and screen guards. We spend a lot of time peeling off old, cracked glass and putting on new ones without getting any bubbles underneath. It gets dusty because of the buses, so we are constantly wiping down the display cases with a rag. Sometimes someone comes in with an old phone that barely works, asking us to make it last just a little bit longer. We don’t have a lot of space to move around, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need into this one little room. Dantri is a small place, so we know most of the people who pass through every day. The light inside isn’t great, but we have a good lamp for when we have to look at the tiny parts inside a phone. We keep the door open to catch whatever breeze there is, even if it brings in the noise from the station. It’s a simple shop where we just fix what’s broken.
