Ticket Master

If you go to the JDA Market, right across from the Jaipur Electronic Market, you’ll find us at Shop No. 20. It’s a small shop, probably smaller than you’d expect. We’ve got a couple of desks, some chairs for people to sit while they wait, and a lot of old calendars on the walls. Being right in the market means it’s always loud outside with horns and people shouting, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We spend our days booking tickets for buses, trains, and flights. It’s mostly just sitting at the computer and trying to find the best routes that aren't too expensive for people. Sometimes the systems go down and we have to sit and chat with the customers while we wait for things to work again. It makes the day go by faster. We aren't a big travel agency with fancy brochures. Most people come to us because we’re easy to find and we’ve been here a long time. There’s usually a stack of newspapers on the table and some half-empty cups of tea. It’s a very casual place. We don't wear uniforms or anything like that. We just come in, open the shutters, and start helping whoever walks in. It’s a busy life being in the middle of a market like this, but it keeps things interesting. Shop No. 20 is always open for anyone who needs a ticket.
