If you ever find yourself on Jhotwara Road in Jaipur, you’ll probably see the Pinkcity Tower. We are up on the second floor at number 217. That’s where Sumitranandan Tradableagro Private Limited is based. The tower is a busy place with all sorts of offices and shops, so there is always a crowd at the elevators and plenty of noise from the street. Jhotwara Road is notorious for its traffic, but it’s a central enough spot that it makes sense for a trading business like ours. Inside the office, things are usually a bit chaotic but in a way that we’ve grown to understand. We have papers everywhere and the phones are almost always ringing with someone asking about prices or delivery times for agro goods. It’s a very straightforward environment. We don’t have any expensive furniture or art on the walls. It’s just a place where we come to work and handle the trade. We’ve been in this building for a while now, so we know the other tenants and the tea guy who comes around in the afternoon. It’s not a fancy life, but it keeps us busy. We mostly focus on the numbers and making sure our traders are happy with how things are moving. It’s just a regular Jaipur office life, dealing with the heat, the traffic, and the daily demands of the agro market. We find that being right in the middle of everything helps us stay on top of things as they happen.
