Saurashtra Jewels & Arts

We’ve been running Saurashtra Jewels & Arts for quite some time now. Our shop is tucked inside the Jorawar Singh Gate, right across from the Ayurveda College on Amer Road. It is a busy area with a lot of traffic and people walking by, but we have grown used to the noise over the years. My family started this business because we always had an interest in how jewelry is made and the different types of art from our region. We aren't a big corporation with fancy offices; it is just us in this small space. Most of the time, I am sitting behind the counter or organizing the displays while my brother helps out with the customers. We have a lot of items packed into the shelves, from small silver pieces to bigger decorative items for the home. Sometimes the shop feels a bit small when more than three people come in at once. We don't really do much marketing or have a website that works right. People usually just find us because they are visiting the gate or going to the college across the street. We just try to show up every morning, open the shutters, and see who comes in. It’s a simple life and we like being part of the local community here. If you ever find yourself on Amer Road, you’ll see our sign right there. We spend our days mostly chatting with regulars and keeping the dust off the cases.
