Jaipur Textile Hub

Our place is H-149a in the Riico Area of Sanganer. It’s an industrial part of town, so it’s not exactly pretty. There’s a lot of noise from the neighboring units and the roads are usually full of trucks. Jaipur Textile Hub is where we handle all our fabric work. It’s a big, open space with high ceilings and not much else. We have stacks of cloth piled high on wooden pallets. The air always smells a bit like dye and dust. It’s a hardworking environment, nothing like the fancy shops in the city center. We spend our days moving rolls of fabric around and checking orders. It’s physical work and your back definitely feels it by the end of the shift. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the middle of a task. We take our lunches together sitting on whatever is available. Sanganer is known for this kind of work, so we fit right in. It’s hot in the summer because the tin roof picks up all the heat, but we have big fans to keep the air moving. We aren't here to impress anyone with the decor. We just focus on getting the textiles ready and sent out. It’s a basic operation but it’s ours. We keep our tools sharp and our eyes on the clock, making sure everything is moving like it should. It is just plain daily labor.
