S S Sabarwal Engineering Works

You can find our workshop at F-5 in the Bais Godam Kartarpura Industrial Area. It’s a place where there’s always the sound of machines humming or someone using a lathe. We do a lot of engineering work, which basically means we spend our days fixing parts, welding things together, or making something new from a piece of raw metal. The floors are usually covered in metal shavings and there’s always a bit of grease on our hands. We’ve been in this industrial area for quite a while now, so we know the other shop owners around here pretty well. It’s a gritty environment, not like those clean offices you see in the movies. We have old machines that still work better than the new ones sometimes. People bring us broken machinery parts and we try to figure out a way to get them working again so they don't have to buy expensive replacements. It takes some patience and a lot of measuring. We don’t really do marketing; people usually just hear about us from someone else in the neighborhood. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we know where every tool is kept. It’s just a regular engineering shop where we put in the hours and get the parts out the door. We don't make a big fuss about things. We just open up the shutters in the morning and get to work on whatever is on the bench.
