Rampal Koolwal

Our place is in Surajpole, specifically at C-19. It’s an old part of the city, and things move a bit differently here. Rampal Koolwal is the name on the board, but to most people, we’re just the shop on the corner. We deal in various goods, mostly things that local households or other small tradesmen might need. The building is older, with thick walls and a narrow entrance. Inside, it’s packed with stock from floor to ceiling. There isn't much room to move around once a couple of customers are inside at the same time. We’ve been operating from this location for quite some time. It's a lot of paperwork and manual counting. We don’t use any high-tech systems. A pen and a notebook are usually enough to keep things straight. The street outside is always crowded with rickshaws and people walking. It can get quite loud, but we are used to the noise. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when things are slow. We don’t do any advertising. People find us because we’ve been here so long. It’s a practical business. We focus on having what people ask for. If we don’t have it, we try to get it by the next time they come around. It’s about building those long-term connections with the people who live and work around Surajpole. Every day is a bit different, but the core of the work remains the same. We just show up and do the job.
