Mona Trading Co

Working out of Choti Chaupar at Rama Krishna Market 22/225 means we are always in the middle of everything. It’s a busy spot in Jaipur and there is always noise outside the door. Mona Trading Co has been in this corner for some time. We spend most of our mornings opening up the shutters and seeing what arrived the night before. There are always boxes to move and lists to check. Some days the market is so crowded that the delivery guys struggle to find a place to park their carts. We just handle things as they come. It’s not a shiny place with air conditioning, just a regular shop where we do our trading. We talk to a lot of different people, mostly other shopkeepers or folks who need to buy in bulk. Sometimes we sit and have tea while waiting for a shipment to show up. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint but we are usually too busy moving stock to worry about that. Everything gets piled up on the shelves and we know where most things are even if it looks a bit messy to someone walking in for the first time. Chaturbhuj Ka Khanda is a narrow area so you have to be used to the squeeze. We just keep our heads down and get the work done day after day.
