Mata Kalawati College Of Special Education is located at House No-407/258/ 5A in New Sohabatia Bagh, along Shivpuri Marg. It is more of a home-like setting than a big institution, which actually works quite well for the kind of work we do here. We focus on special education, which means we train teachers and work with students who need a different sort of attention. The building is tucked away in a residential lane, so it stays relatively quiet compared to the noise of the main roads. We have a few rooms set up for different activities and some desk space for all the paperwork that comes with running a college. It is a lot of hands-on work every day. We do not have a giant staff, just a few dedicated people who have been in this field for a long time. People come to us from different parts of the city because there are not many places like this around. We spend our days going through the teaching modules and working on practical skills. The furniture is a bit older, and we have charts pinned up on the walls to help with the lessons. We often have tea together in the small courtyard during our breaks to talk about how the students are progressing. It is a small community of people trying to help out in a very specific way. We just take it day by day and focus on whoever walks through our door.
