We've been here on Hawa Sarak for a good while now. The shop, Manapasand-The Gift Shop, is just a small place packed with all sorts of things people look for when they’re in a hurry. You know how it goes, someone is heading to a party and they realize they forgot a present. That’s usually when we see them. It gets quite dusty with the traffic passing by outside, so most of the morning is spent just wiping down the glass shelves and making sure the boxes look decent. We don’t have any fancy displays or anything like that. It’s mostly just shelves piled high with photo frames, some mugs, and those little statues people like for their desks. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit if it’s raining hard outside, but we just keep the door open anyway. Most of our neighbors know us by name. It’s not a big operation, just a couple of us working through the day, drinking tea and waiting for the next person to walk in. Hawa Sarak is a busy stretch, and we’re right in the middle of it all. People often ask for gift wrapping, which can be a bit of a struggle if we’re running low on tape, but we manage. It’s just a normal shop doing its thing every day. We don’t really change much around here, the layout is basically the same as it was years ago, but it works for us.
