Our place, Maa Annapurna, is located right by the Post Office in Jobner. We are at Lamba Circle, which is near the bus stand. It’s a very central spot in town, so there’s always people coming and going. You can hear the conductors shouting out destinations all day long. We started out small and we’ve pretty much stayed that way. The office is just a simple room with some old wooden furniture and stacks of paper. We don't go in for anything modern or shiny. Being near Lamba Circle means we get a lot of foot traffic. Sometimes people just pop in to ask for directions or to see what we’re up to. We don't mind. Jobner is a quiet enough place once the buses stop running for the night. We spend our days making sure everything is running smoothly. It’s a lot of routine work, but it suits us. We’ve been here long enough that the post office workers are like family to us. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just show up, do what needs to be done, and go home to our families. It’s a decent way to earn a living. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but we never seem to get around to it. Maa Annapurna is just a part of the daily landscape here near the bus stand. We are just doing our part in the village.
